IMD Weather Update: Heavy Rain To Lash Kerala; Thunderstorms And Heatwave Alerts Issued Across Multiple States
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted significant weather changes across several states in the country over the next few days. According to a detailed forecast, heavy rain and heatwave conditions are expected over a few regions. The Weather Department has warned of incessant rainfall over Kerala on June 4th.
The other affected places include Assam and Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal on the 4th; Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh during 4th-7th; Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Interior Karnataka till 5th June.
Regarding the Southwest Monsoon, IMD said, “The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through 17.0°N/55°E, 17.5°N/60°E, 18°N/65°E, 18.5°N/70°E, Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, Puri, Sandhead Island, 23.5°N/89.5°E, Balurghat, 30°N/85°E.”
Meanwhile, Bihar, West Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim can expect thundersquall winds reaching 50-60 kmph and later gusting to 70 kmph today. Notably, commuters may face significant delays and traffic disruptions in the above-mentioned places in the coming days due to rain.
Hot and humid weather, on the other hand, is likely to prevail over Odisha during the 4th- 6th and Gangetic West Bengal on 4th June. Additionally, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam will face the wrath of heat on 4th and 5th, while Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal on 4th June.
