Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi, the lawyer of NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi), has slammed the party’s Director of Legal Affairs, Gary Nimako, after the latter claimed he had blocked him on social media.

Gary Nimako, in an interview on Asempa FM on Monday, June 2, 2025, said that he could no longer trust Appiah-Kubi and had blocked him because he (Appiah-Kubi) lied about not knowing about a variation application he (Nimako) filed to reduce Wontumi’s GH¢50,000 bail set by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

Reacting to this in an interview on Adom FM, Appiah-Kubi, former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante-Akim North, indicated that he cares less about Nimako blocking him, adomonline.com reports.

He insisted that the NPP Director of Legal Affairs did not inform him about the variation application he (Nimako) filed on behalf of his client.

“He is not someone I call. I don’t need his chats for anything. If he has blocked me, so what? He did not inform me that he was going to take another decision,” Appiah-Kubi is quoted to have said.

The former legislator went on to castigate Nimako, asserting that he was more knowledgeable than him when it comes to matters of law.

“I am a senior to him, and he should take his time. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get understanding,” he quoted the Bible, stressing that there is no basis for comparison between the two of them in terms of academic qualifications.

He further added that; “He cannot challenge me on my academic affairs. I can publicly advertise my results and let him come and publish his own. He is not someone I call. In fact, he would rather call me. He should never call me.”
