How Jimmy Butler Really Feels After Leaving Miami Heat For Golden State Warriors
It has already been a few weeks since the Miami Heat traded Jimmy Butler to the Golden State Warriors. But the 35-year-old's name continues to remain a topic of discussion.
It is only natural as well. Firstly, he guided the Heat to two NBA Finals in his time in Miami. Secondly, the relationship ended on a bitter note. Butler was suspended three times by the franchise this season before he was traded to the Warriors.
Butler is playing some great basketball since pulling on a Warriors uniform though. They are 5-1 with him in the team.
There were many who thought Butler would not fit the Warriors, both stylistically and in terms of his attitude. But so far, things seem to be going absolutely fine.
In fact, Butler seems to be having a great time after leaving the Heat for the Warriors. While speaking on NBA Countdown, Brian Windhorst said: "If you talk to people around Jimmy Butler, he is in the full-blown honeymoon right now. He is loving it. He is loving playing with Steph. He is loving playing for Steve Kerr. He is loving playing for Mike Dudley, the general manager who is a former teammate of his.
"This is a completely different opportunity than Miami was, where they operate a little bit like the military. The Warriors operate a little bit like a player's spa. They take care of their players in a different way. They have a different relationship with them. Jimmy is enjoying it."
Butler seems to be bringing the best out of his new teammates. This was a Warriors team that had been struggling to string together wins for months.
Now, they are 5-1 with Butler. Both Steph Curry and Draymond Green look rejuvenated. There seems to be a newfound belief around the place. The Warriors might actually be outside contenders this season if they can make the right adjustments.
As for the Heat, it has been a tough transition. That was always going to be the case though when you trade the face of the franchise. Unfortunately, they look like a play-in team at the moment.
