Honda Motorcycle and Power Products Head- Operating Executive, Daiki Mihara, in a recent press brefing held in Japan revealed company’s plan to target the mass-market segment in India with a new affodable electric motorcycle. The first budget e-motorcycle from Honda will be targeted at the daily commuters seeking a budget ride.
The upcoming Honda motorcycle will be manufactured in India itself. The manufacturing will be done at the company’s dedicated EV plant which will be getting operational by 2028. To recap, Honda will be setting up the dedicated E2W manufacturing plant near Bengaluru, Karnataka. With the local production of E2Ws, Honda is aiming to crawl up the ladder to meet the rising demands of sustainable mobility solutions.

Name of the upcoming Honda motorcycle is not clear at this moment. It could be the Shine e if we belive the rumors. That’s considering, the company has confirmed the new electric motorcycle will be delivering power equivalent to a 100cc petrol motorcycle. Also, the Honda e-motorcycle will be producing a power output of 4 kW. The range could be somewhere around 100- 150 km range.
