Grief and confusion engulfed Magare village in Homa Bay county after a 32-year-old man was found dead near his in-law's home.

Eric Omondi Gogo’s lifeless body was discovered by the locals a few metres from the home of his estranged wife.
One of the residents stated that Omondi had asked a few people where his ex-wife lived before he died.
“The deceased had married a woman from this homestead; he came and conducted investigations to find out where his ex-wife lived before he died,” he said in a report by KBC.
According to the residents, the man and his wife had a domestic dispute that led to their separation.
“Everyone gathered here is in shock and sorrow, and we all want to know what happened leading to this man’s death,” he added.
The body of the deceased was moved by police officers to the Homa Bay County Teaching and Referral Hospital awaiting postmortem.
In other news, reported that a construction worker was found dead on Saturday, January 18, evening in the Kware area of Ongata Rongai.
The deceased, identified as Mwai has signs of blunt force trauma even though there was no visible blood at the scene.
His murder comes just days after a young woman was found dead in her home in the same area, fueling growing concerns over rising insecurity.
In similar news reported by , a man identified as John Muchiri Muthoni was found dead by the roadside after being reported missing on January 3, 2025.
Muthoni's lifeless body was located after his girlfriend received a mysterious call informing her of the whereabouts of her deceased partner.
Videos shared online captured Muchiri's body lying by the road, with his clothes lying a short distance from him.
