Himesh Reshammiya Asks Fans About His Singing Style at Concert

Himesh Reshammiya delivered a high-energy performance at Mumbai’s Jio World Garden on May 31 as a key stop on his Cap Mania Tour. The singer-composer captivated a large, enthusiastic audience, who actively participated by singing along to his well-known tracks during the sold-out event.
A notable moment during the concert occurred when Himesh Reshammiya directly and playfully addressed the criticism he has often received regarding his distinctive nasal singing style. A video circulating online captures him performing his hit song "Aashiq Banaya Aapne." Partway through the song, he paused to interact with the audience, asking, “Thoda regular gaaun ya naak se gaaun? (Should I sing normally or from my nose?)”
The crowd responded with cheers, encouraging him to sing in his signature nasal manner. After confirming their preference with an “Are you sure?”, Reshammiya proceeded to sing a couple of lines from the song in his characteristic style, which was met with great enthusiasm from the concertgoers.
This on-stage interaction echoes Himesh Reshammiya's previous statements on his singing. In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, he asserted that he was a trendsetter for nasal singing in Bollywood, noting, “Aaj toh nasal ki baat bhi nahi kar rahe hain. Many people did nasal singing after me; so many of my songs became hits.” He also provided a deeper interpretation of his style, explaining, “Even though I call it nasal singing today, for me, it was never nasal — it was high-pitched singing. It was a cry for help! In the Aashiq Banaya video, the guy is actually crying in pain, singing, as well as dancing…”
The Mumbai concert was attended by several prominent figures, including filmmaker Farah Khan and actor Veer Pahariya. Following the event, Himesh Reshammiya took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the massive support. He wrote, “Jai MATADI Let’s Rock 🙏❤️ Thank you for the historic response to our sold-out show at JIO Garden BKC, and also thanks for the amazing response to our latest blockbuster hit song Dil Ke Taj Mahal Meinn from Badass Ravi Kumar, besides all our previous blockbuster hit songs.”
On the film front, Himesh Reshammiya's latest appearance was in "Badass Ravi Kumar." The movie garnered mixed reviews from viewers and did not perform as expected at the box office, with worldwide earnings reported at ₹10.98 crore. This context perhaps highlights his previously stated determination, as Himesh Reshammiya has expressed a desire to end the debate over his acting skills and is committed to winning over critics in that domain. Looking ahead, the success of the Mumbai concert fuels his ongoing Cap Mania Tour, with his next performance scheduled for Delhi on July 19.
