Himesh Reshammiya Asks Fans About His Singing Style at Concert

Himesh Reshammiya delivered a high-energy performance at Mumbai’s Jio World Garden on May 31, 2025, as part of his acclaimed Cap Mania Tour. The singer-composer captivated a massive, sold-out audience, who enthusiastically sang along to his iconic tracks. During the concert, Reshammiya took a moment to playfully address the long-standing criticism surrounding his distinctive nasal singing style. In an interactive segment, he asked the crowd, “Thoda regular gaaun ya naak se gaaun? (Should I sing normally or from my nose?)” The audience overwhelmingly cheered for him to sing in his signature nasal voice. Confirming their preference with an “Are you sure?”, Himesh then delighted fans by performing lines from his hit song “Aashiq Banaya Aapne” in his well-known style.
This on-stage interaction echoes Himesh Reshammiya's previous statements regarding his vocal technique. In an earlier interview with Pinkvilla, he asserted that he had, in fact, pioneered the trend of nasal singing in Bollywood, noting that many artists subsequently adopted similar styles after his songs achieved widespread success. He clarified his perspective, stating, “Even though I call it nasal singing today, for me, it was never nasal — it was high-pitched singing. It was a cry for help! In the Aashiq Banaya video, the guy is actually crying in pain, singing, as well as dancing…” This suggests that he views his unique style as an emotive expression rather than just a vocal peculiarity.
The Mumbai concert was attended by several notable personalities, including filmmaker Farah Khan and actor Veer Pahariya. Following the event, Himesh Reshammiya took to Instagram to express his profound gratitude for the "historic response" to the sold-out show. He also thanked fans for the positive reception to his latest song, “Dil Ke Taj Mahal Meinn,” from the movie “Badass Ravi Kumar,” alongside his extensive catalog of previous blockbuster hits.
On the film front, Himesh Reshammiya was last seen in “Badass Ravi Kumar.” The movie garnered a mixed response from both audiences and critics, and its box office performance was modest, with reported worldwide earnings of ₹10.98 crore. Looking ahead, after the triumph of his Mumbai show, Himesh is scheduled to continue his Cap Mania Tour, with his next performance slated for Delhi on July 19.
