Hera Pheri 3: Paresh Rawal reacts to feud with Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan over sudden exit
The much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3 has encountered major turbulence following veteran actor Paresh Rawal's unexpected departure from the project. Known for his iconic portrayal of Baburao, Rawal's exit has not only surprised fans but also led to a legal confrontation with co-star and producer Akshay Kumar.
Rawal's decision to step away from the film, reportedly citing creative dissatisfaction and a desire for fresh character development, was met with a Rs 25 crore lawsuit from Kumar's production house, Cape of Good Films. The lawsuit alleges breach of contract and unprofessional conduct, emphasising the financial and scheduling setbacks caused by Rawal's sudden exit.
In response, Rawal returned his signing amount of Rs 11 lakh, accompanied by 15% annual interest, asserting the legitimacy of his departure. His legal representative, Ameet Naik, has addressed the notice, with Rawal expressing hope that the matter will soon be resolved. When this was not enough, the veteran actor also tweeted!
Paresh Rawal took to his X handle and wrote, “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response, all issues will be laid to rest.”

Director Priyadarshan recently revealed that Kumar was emotionally affected by Rawal's departure and added that Rawal did not communicate his decision to the team. He told Mid-day, “All our contracts were signed. Ten days ago, Suniel, Akshay, and Paresh shot a scene and the IPL [Indian Premier League] teaser. It was only after we unanimously agreed to do 'Hera Pheri 3' that Akshay bought the franchise’s rights. Akshay had tears in his eyes when he asked me, 'Priyan, why is Paresh doing this to us?'”
