As veteran Nollywood actor Adebayo Salami, also known as Oga Bello, clocks 60 years in the film industry, his son, Femi Adebayo, has announced a new movie project titled “Her Excellency to honour the milestone.

Femi shared the update via Instagram on Monday, describing his father as his “mentor, hero and teacher,” and hailed his six-decade journey as one of “unwavering excellence in filmmaking.”

“Some stories are bigger than words… and some men are greater than the legends told about them,” Femi wrote in a heartfelt tribute.

According to him, “Her Excellency” is a tribute film that “reflects not just his artistry, but the depth of his passion and dedication to this craft.”

The movie is set to premiere on 29 June, 2025, and will begin showing in cinemas across Nigeria from 4 July, 2025.

Femi further described the project as a celebration not just for his father, but for “every dreamer, every creative, every artiste who dares to build, to sacrifice, to endure.”

Oga Bello, who began his acting career in the 1960s, is regarded as one of the pioneers of the Yoruba film industry.

Over the years, he has featured in and produced numerous acclaimed titles and mentored many actors, including his son.

The forthcoming movie adds to the growing list of tributes marking Adebayo Salami’s legacy in the Nigerian creative industry.
