Femi Adebayo presents AMVCA award to father Adebayo Salami for blessings
Actor Femi Adebayo has shared a touching moment with his father, veteran actor Adebayo Salami, following his win at the 2025 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
After clinching the Best Lead Actor award for his role in Seven Doors at the ceremony held on Saturday, at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos, Femi took the prestigious plaque to his father’s home to receive prayers.
In a video posted , Femi is seen kneeling beside his seated father as he prays for his continued success.
Femi captioned the post, “There are moments awards can’t measure—like this one. Humbled beyond words as my father, Alhaji Adebayo Salami @adebayo.salami and my dear mothers poured prayers over me today.
“Seven Doors may have triumphed at #AMVCA2025, but the true foundation of everything I am… is right here.
Their sacrifices, their prayers, their love—without them, there is no me. This win is ours.”
The heartfelt gesture resonated with fans and colleagues, who praised Femi for honouring his roots and showcasing humility at the peak of his success.
Seven Doors also earned Chioma Chukwuka the Best Lead Actress award, marking a double triumph for the film at the 2025 AMVCAs.
Directed by Femi Adebayo, Tope Adebayo and Adebayo Tijani, Seven Doors is a six-part limited series that premiered on Netflix in December 2024.
Set in 18th-century Ilara, the series follows Adedunjoye (played by Femi Adebayo), a reluctant king whose reign is haunted by a generational curse.
To break the curse, he must marry six additional wives, opening ‘seven doors,’ despite his deep love for his Igbo wife, Amaka (portrayed by Chioma Chukwuka).
The series features a star-studded cast including Adebayo Salami, Jide Kosoko, Gabriel Afolayan, Hafiz Oyetoro, Muyiwa Ademola and Ronke Odusanya.
