Hellenic Train shutters ticket offices at 21 stations

In a move it says modernizes its operations and improves service quality, Hellenic Train has announced the closure of physical ticket offices at 21 railway stations across the country, as part of a broader reorganization of its ticketing infrastructure.

According to an official announcement, the Italian-owned rail operator is shifting its focus toward digital and alternative ticketing methods, citing a commitment to “respond systematically to the modern needs of the traveling public” and provide a “more direct, flexible, and modern travel experience.”

The affected stations include: Adendro, Aigio, Alexandria, Alexandroupoli, Amyntaio, Drama, Edessa, Florina, Kilkis, Komotini, Lamia, Litochoro, Naousa, Nea Peramos, Orestiada, Rodopoli, Serres, Skydra, Stylida, Tithorea, Veria.

Passengers departing from these stations are encouraged to purchase tickets through digital platforms or alternative channels, such as Hellenic Train’s website or app and or by calling the customer service centre at 14511. Passengers boarding at stations where ticket offices have closed can also purchase tickets onboard from train staff.
