HCVFD responds after release of crude oil, gas causes large flame
HOWARD COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – The Howard County Volunteer Fire Department, along with several other agencies, responded to an oil field fire Wednesday evening.
According to the department, at about 5:19 pm on Wednesday, January 15, volunteers responded to an oil field fire at the intersection of North Moss Lake road and Old Colorado Highway. Upon arrival, a heater treater trailer was determined to have caused the release of crude oil and gas, before igniting in a large flame.
Working with facility operators, volunteers isolated the flow and extinguished the fire a short time later. No injuries were reported at the scene of the fire.
