Dead tree removal in Takoma Park prompts road closures, parking restrictions

TAKOMA PARK, Md. () — On Monday, roads will be closed and parking will be prohibited as crews work to remove a dead tree in the Takoma Park area.

The Takoma Park Police Department said that on Jan. 27, Adirondack Tree Experts will start to remove a large tree around 7 a.m. in the 7400 block of Holly Avenue.

While crews work on the scene, 7405 Holly Avenue to 7314 Holly Avenue will be closed to all traffic. The tree will also block a portion of Dogwood Avenue near 7401 Holly Avenue.

According to Takoma Park police, signs were posted 72 hours before the removal process, and multiple cones and signs will be in place throughout the process.

Adirondack Tree Experts are expected to finish around 2 p.m.
