Harleys American Grille to expand to Huntington

Published 8 hours ago2 minute read

After seven years in Farmingdale, Harleys American Grille is expanding and heading north. A second location on Jericho Turnpike in Huntington is currently in the works. Owner Michael LoManto said he hopes to open "before school starts in the fall."

Harleys' original location is one of the pillars of the Farmingdale dining scene, offering steaks and New American cuisine in a contemporary-clubby atmosphere. LoManto said the decor and menu in both places will be identical and that his chef, Keith McConnell, will be overseeing both kitchens.

According to LoManto, there’s a lot of work to be done on the building. He’s constructing an outdoor area that will function all-year round, and has gutted the interior. "There hasn’t been much work done in here since it was a comedy club 50 years ago — it still has the stage."

East Side Comedy Club was a popular stand-up venue during the 1980s. In 1992, it gave way to Conrad’s Bar & Grill, Jim Tonic’s and then Pomodorino, which lasted from 1995 until 2011. The building, at 326 W. Jericho Tpke., was vacant until 2021 when it housed a succession of short-lived ventures: Mazi, Skafos, Reserve and, most recently, Catch 25.

LoManto isn’t worried about the location. "We know what we do and we know our concept works," he said. "We are doing a complete renovation and all new landscaping. This will look like a destination spot."
