Guns N' Roses Concert in Mumbai

Guns N' Roses delivered an electrifying performance in Mumbai at the Mahalakshmi Racecourse on Saturday night, marking their return to India after 13 years. Fans across generations, predominantly Gen X, braved logistical challenges like long walks, heavy traffic, and the threat of rain to witness the legendary American band.
Lead singer AXL Rose, 63, lead guitarist Slash, 59, and bassist Duff McKagan, 61, captivated the audience with a non-stop, almost three-hour performance. The band's lineup also included Richard Fortus (guitar), Dizzy Reed and Melissa Reese (keyboard), and Isaac Carpenter (drummer). Rose greeted the crowd with, "It’s good to see you again, Mumbai,” eliciting a thunderous response.
GNR kicked off the concert with Welcome To The Jungle and Bad Obsession, transitioning into iconic fan favorites such as Sweet Child O’ Mine, Paradise City, and November Rain. Rose’s piano solo during November Rain was a particularly memorable moment. Indian rock band Girish and the Chronicles served as the opening act before GNR took the stage.
For the generation that grew up with GNR, the evening transcended a typical music concert. The band’s music resonated with themes of heartbreak, rebellion, and passion, offering a powerful rock revival experience. The concert was presented by BookMyShow Live.
The band’s set list for Mumbai included:
