Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has condoled with the Editor-in-Chief of Daily Trust, Alhaji Hamza Idris, on the passing away of his mother, Hajiya Rabi Idris, on Monday in Kano.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf eulogized the late Hajiya Rabi Idris as “a woman of virtue,” whose inheritable legacy of love, care and nurturing has shaped the lives of her children and spurring them towards success.
“Her death is a tremendous loss, not just to her family but to the entire Ummah,” the governor stated, “in view of her tireless efforts in shaping the younger ones who later on flourished and emerged as leading members of society.”
The governor begged Allah to be merciful to her soul, hoping she would be counted among the righteous.
The governor also sent prayer for strength and perseverance to the grieving family.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Kano State,” read the statement.
“I pray that Almighty Allah reward her efforts and grant her eternal peace. May her memory be cherished, and her impact on people’s lives felt forever.”
Hajiya Rabi Idris died on June 23, 2025, in Kano.
