Gov. Stein appoints Conley to fill open District Court seat in 32nd Judicial District | Iredell Free News
Gov. Josh Stein on Friday appointed Statesville attorney Jessie Conley to fill the vacant District Court seat in the 32nd Judicial District.
The open seat, which serves Iredell and Alexander counties, was created by the resignation of District Court Judge Bryan Corbett. Citing personal reasons, Corbett stepped down on March 7, just four months after being re-elected.
Conley currently works at Pressly, Thomas & Conley P.A. in Statesville and previously served as a District Court Judge for Judicial District 22 from 1990 to 1994. She received her B.A. from Duke University and her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law.
“Jessie has more than four decades of legal and judicial experience, making her the perfect choice to serve District 32,” Stein said. “Her judgment and experience are invaluable, and I look forward to her service on the bench.”
Conley was one of five attorneys nominated to fill the vacant seat by the District 32 Bar Association in April.
