The news shared on social media by radio host Jeff Kuria sparked renewed public concern over road safety in the area.

Eyewitnesses at the scene reported scenes of horror and distress, however, there are still no official details about the casualties.

The area around Githurai 45 has become notorious for accidents in recent months, with locals now calling on the government to take immediate action.

One of the major demands by residents is the installation of speed bumps to slow down vehicles approaching the stretch.

Social media has also been awash with heartfelt prayers and appeals, particularly for men who face dangerous commutes daily.

“Ladies, let's be praying for our men when they step out to hustle,” urged Purity Muthee in a viral post.
“That place is becoming too much. Just last week, six people died at the same spot,” Jay Muthama lamented.
“Just witnessed and I couldn't control my tears,” Francy Nimu, an emotional bystander, stated.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities have yet to release an official statement on the cause of the accident or any casualties involved.

However, traffic officers have urged drivers and motorcyclists to exercise extreme caution, especially along accident-prone zones like Githurai 45.

The incident comes barely a month after several people died when a matatu lost control and crashed into roadside hawkers in Githurai.

Eyewitnesses reported that the matatu swerved to avoid a minor collision before veering off the road and striking pedestrians.

Authorities confirmed that over three individuals sustained critical injuries, while several others were treated for minor injuries and rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital for further care.

In another recent crash reported around the Mumbi area, two motorcycles and a tuk-tuk were involved in a collision, leaving one man seriously injured.
