BBL top team - ratiopharm Ulm (22-8) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat sixth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (16-14)

Ulm dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to MLP Academics Heidelberg's 30. 27 personal fouls committed by Heidelberg helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a quality performance of Israeli point guard Ben Saraf (197-2006) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 4 assists and the former international Karim Jallow (198-1997) who added 13 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. American forward Ryan Mikesell (201-1996, college: Dayton, agency: Slash Sports) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ulm maintains first position with 22-8 record, which they share with Bayern. Heidelberg lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Weissenfels and Rostock. Ulm is looking forward to face Bamberg (#15) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bamberg's coach Anton Gavel tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ludwigsburg moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Hamburg. Bamberg at the other side keeps the fifteenth position with 19 games lost. Ludwigsburg will play against higher ranked Weissenfels (#9) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bamberg will play against the league's leader Ulm (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
An interesting game took place in Oldenburg where higher ranked Rasta Vechta (16-15) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked EWE Baskets (15-16) 91-75 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rasta Vechta. The best player for the winners was Geno Crandall who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. EWE Baskets' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Brandon Randolph produced 42 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the guests. EWE Baskets have a solid three-game winning streak. Oldenburg moved-up to thirteenth place. Loser Rasta Vechta dropped to the tenth position with 15 games lost. Oldenburg will meet Frankfurt (#16) on the road in the next round. Vechta will have a break next round.
There were no shocking results in the other games in round 32: Frankfurt lost to Braunschweig on the opponent's court 72-79. Bayern managed to outperform Goettingen in a home game 94-86. Rostock recorded a loss to Chemnitz on the road 108-102. Weissenfels crushed Hamburg on its own court 102-81.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points and 9 assists by Charles Callison of Weissenfels.
