Fire breaks out behind recycling facility in South Bay

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A fire broke out Monday behind a recycling facility in Chula Vista.

The incident occurred around 3:09 p.m. at 1750 Broadway, the Chula Vista Fire Department confirmed to FOX 5/KUSI.

SkyFOX/KUSI in the Sky was over the scene where the fire burned at the back of a recycling plant.

Evacuations ordered as crews battle brush fire near homes in Poway

Forward progress has been stopped, but crews will be working at the site for multiple hours because of the large pile of scrap, according to firefighters.

There were no injuries reported.

First responders have closed Main Street from Broadway to 4th Avenue at this time.
