Fayose's brother chides Oyebanji over poor performance

Social media critic, Isaac Fayose, has carpeted Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji’s performance in the state, describing it as abysmal.

Isaac Fayose is a brother to former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, who is one of the supporters of Oyebanji for another term in office ahead of the 2026 governorship election in the state.

In a viral video on Democracy Day, Fayose described Oyebanji as a failure while comparing him with other governors in the country.

Fayose commended Governor Alex Otti of Abia State for commissioning 15 projects in a day. He also praised the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for commissioning projects at the nation’s capital.

He lamented that the Ekiti State governor had no project to commission despite the huge federal allocations to the state.

Fayose also hailed President Bola Tinubu for commissioning some projects, including the 30-kilometre part of Lagos-Calabar Coaster Road and other projects across the country.

He expressed disappointment over the inability of Oyebanji to commission any laudable project in Ekiti since the assumption of office in 2022, except what Fayose called “upkeeps to the former governors as if they are his wives.”

The social critic and philanthropist accused the governor of ordering thugs to take over the streets in Ekiti to prevent protests against his government on Democracy Day, and for failing to deliver any meaningful dividends of democracy to the people.
