FADM military personnel develop knowledge about cooperation between police and judicial authorities | EEAS

Maputo, Mozambique – In the context of the Administrative Command Elements (ACE) Programme, addressed to Senior Officers of the Mozambican Armed Defence Forces (FADM), the Counterterrorism Advisor (CTAD) from the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) has been providing formation about cooperation between police and judicial authorities.

The CTAD, from the Portuguese Gendarmerie Force, who works closely with the law enforcement authorities, the Public Prosecutor’s Office and Internacional stakeholders to reinforce operational frameworks to enhance security and justice, in the context of EUMAM MOZ, provided some content about Code of Conduct, Security and Defence Policy and Interoperability between local authorities.

The ACE Programme started on the 26th of May and aims to contribute to the operational capacity of the FADM in the fight against terrorism in Cabo Delgado province, with a view to the effective implementation of an operational cycle of the Quick Reaction Forces.  

EUMAM MOZ is a non-executive mission with a mandate until June 2026 and focuses on the operational training cycle and maintenance. Currently commanded by Brigadier General Luís Barroso, from the Portuguese Army, has 83 military personnel from 11 nationalities.
