'Modern Family' Alum Ariel Winter Goes Undercover to Entrap Criminals for New True Crime Docuseries - National Enquirer | Latest Celebrity News, Pictures & Entertainment

Actress starred on the ABC hit Modern Family from age 11 through her teens — and now at 27, the actress is back, disguising herself as a young girl to entrap dangerous child sex predators.

Ariel, who played Alex Dunphy on the show that ran from 2009 to 2020, has joined with the nonprofit Safe from Online Sex Abuse (SOSA).
She’s seen disguised as a 12-year-old girl luring a 31-year-old sex creep in an Oklahoma City sting operation on the true crime docuseries SOSA Undercover.

The actress admitted to Daily Mail: “It can be scary at times pretending to be 12 and talking to older men. But it’s validating to put away predators that have been harming children.”
For her chilling, real-life role as prey for sickos, Ariel wore a blond wig with bangs, and in one scene sits on a bed in a kid-like bedroom as she lures a twisted lowlife, calling him “Daddy” in a childlike voice as they FaceTime on computers.
The reality is there are “hundreds of thousands of men … looking to talk to young girls who were 12 or 13,” she told the outlet. Many seem like normal family men, “the guy next door,” but hide depraved urges.

“One guy was almost 40 years old, and he wanted to take an 11-year-old girl shopping for a new bra. That’s not normal,” Ariel recalled.
Ironically, “growing up in the entertainment industry,” starting with a 2002 Cool Whip ad at age 4, she realized: “I’ve been the girl we are trying to save.”
Now, she says: “It’s definitely cathartic to be teaming with SOSA, knowing that I can make a difference.”
