EXCLUSIVE! Jenelle Evans Officially Files for Divorce from David Eason After Having Been Legally Separated for More Than a Year - The Ashley's Reality Roundup

“Judge please put an end to our swampy soulmate love story!”

Fifteen months after leaving ,  has officially filed for divorce.

can exclusively reveal that Jenelle filed the necessary paperwork to finally end her marriage to her former soulmate, David, earlier this week. This filing— which Jenelle did through the North Carolina’s court system from her current residence in Las Vegas— is for an “absolute divorce,” unlike what the fired  star filed in February 2024, which was for legal separation.

As The Ashley previously reported, North Carolina law requires a couple who is seeking divorce to be legally separated and living apart for one year (with no hanky-panky) before they can officially file for a divorce. (Jenelle had previously filed for a “divorce from bed and board” which is essentially a court-ordered legal separation that does not end the marriage.)

In court documents obtained by The Ashley, Jenelle lists the date of her and David’s separation as February 16, 2024.

“At the time of the separation, at least one of the parties intended the separation to be permanent,” the court docs read. “Since the date of separation, the parties lived continuously separate and apart from each other and did not resume the marital relationship.”

“That’s the official way of saying I didn’t let David go bam-bam in my ham!”

Jenelle also wants to ditch the last name Eason, asking that the court legally restore her surname back to “Evans” once the divorce is granted.

Jenelle acknowledged that she and David are currently involved in a battle in civil court that deals with their separation, asset distribution, custody of their daughter Ensley and more. She asked that the court preserve the claims she made in that case.

A civil summons was sent to David on Tuesday, informing him that he’s being sued.

As The Ashley has previously reported, David has moved on from his marriage to Jenelle. He’s been dating (and living with)  since last year at her home in North Carolina.

“He’s my hunk now, Jenelle!”

Meanwhile, Jenelle took her kids and moved to Las Vegas around April 2024 to be close to her then-booooooyfriend . Their relationship imploded back in January but Jenelle has remained in Las Vegas, even recently moving into a new rental home.

Back in March, David (finally) filed his response to Jenelle’s February 2024 complaint for legal separation. Jenelle recently asked a judge for— and was granted— more time to respond to David’s response. As of press time, she has not filed her response; however, she still has 10 more days to do so.

Despite only officially filing for divorce this week, Jenelle is already celebrating the ending of the union. She announced last week that she is hosting a “divorce party” at a New York City strip club in June.

“Reality TV’s most unfiltered star is flipping the script on heartbreak.  alum Jenelle Evans is officially moving on from David Eason — and she’s not doing it quietly,” the strip club’s website states. “Instead of sulking over the split, Jenelle is going full throttle with a no-holds-barred divorce party in the heart of New York City.”

While the divorce party is set to be “a statement,” Jenelle is calling it her “official reset button”– one which she claims she has earned.

“I’ve survived chaos, heartbreak, betrayal and years of public drama, but I’m still standing, stronger than ever,” Jenelle told Page Six’s Virtual Reali-Tea. “This divorce is my official reset button and I’m throwing a massive celebration to mark the start of me finally living life on my own terms.”
