Ethiopian Airlines has launched a new passenger service to Hyderabad, expanding its India footprint with a fifth destination. The inaugural flight took off on 16 June 2025 from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport, where a ceremonial launch was held in the presence of government officials, ambassadors, and aviation industry representatives.

The new service operates thrice weekly—departing Addis Ababa on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays (ET 682), and returning from Hyderabad on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (ET 683). This addition reflects Ethiopian Airlines’ strategy to deepen air connectivity between Africa and India and respond to rising demand for business, leisure, and trade travel across the two regions.

“We are pleased to commence this new passenger service to Hyderabad, the fifth destination Ethiopian operates in India,” said Mesfin Tasew, Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines. “We believe that beyond providing air transportation service, this new flight will play a pivotal role in strengthening trade and tourism ties between the two regions.”

Tasew added that Ethiopian Airlines remains committed to network growth and enhancing regional access: “As the continent’s top carrier with wide connectivity and world-class service, we remain dedicated to meeting the growing demand and fostering stronger partnerships across borders.”

The airline currently provides over 50 weekly passenger and cargo flights to Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Chennai. With Hyderabad now added to the list, Ethiopian aims to offer more seamless travel options and support cross-border business and tourism exchanges between Africa and South Asia.
