 The Northern Regional Minister, Mr Ali Adolf John Mburudiba, has appealed to the chiefs and people of Saboba to embrace peace in the area in order to ensure that devel­opment is stagnated.

He said peace was a key element to development in their respective communities.

The Minister made the call when the Members of the Saboba Traditional Council led by the Paramount Chief of the Saboba Traditional Area, Ubor Mateer John Bowan Sakojim IV, paid a coutesy call at his office here on Tuesday.

The visit was to officially congratulate the Minister on his appointment as the Northern Regional Minister.

Mr Mburudiba asked them to continue to pray for more peace in every part of the region and Gha­na at large, stressing that this was the only way the government could table more development to reach every community in the country.

He said the NDC government under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama was ready to help the development of com­munities across the country saying that,

“You need to embrace peace in every part of our communities in other for you to get the develop­ment the president is bringing” he said.

The Minister also noted that without peace it would be difficult for them to get development and it was time for each every one of them in their respective traditional jurisdictions to pray for peace in their traditional settlement.

Mr Mburudiba also urged them to prioritise education as a key driver of development and prog­ress in the area.

He further indicated that edu­cation was a powerful tool to em­power individuals and communities for growth and development.

The Minister added that educa­tion was a potential contribution to the development of the region and expand to the growth and prosperity to their communities in which they serve as traditional rulers.

He assured them that the government would roll out more developmental projects in the area which aimed to improve the lives of the people in the area to drive their economy growth.

Ubor Mateer Sakojim, thanked the minister for the efforts being made to ensure all ongoing devel­opmental projects, especially the construction of the Wapuli Bridge are completed

He advised the Minister to be tolerant and patient in serving the people and ensure effective lead­ership to ensure the well-being of the people

The Chief also affirmed his commitment to peace and devel­opment in the area and assured the Minister of his continued effort in maintaining peace at Saboba and its environs.
