Eid el-Kabir: Taraba monarch urges colleagues to avoid selling lands to criminals

Published 2 weeks ago1 minute read

The Emir of Muri, Alhaji Abbas Njidda Tafida, on Friday advised his colleagues in Taraba state to stop selling lands to criminals in the state.

Abbas, who stated this in Jalingo during his Eid el-Kabir message, advised royal fathers to stop selling lands that belonged to communities.

“From ward heads to district heads, you must know that whatever that is kept for a community must be protected. We must know the kind of people we harbour in our various communities and also we should be security-conscious,” he said.

He maintained that royal fathers must leave by example, noting that leaders at all levels must be just in the discharge of their satisfactory responsibilities.

“Once you are a leader, you must be a leader for all irrespective of religious or tribe differences, a leader does not have sentiment about religion nor tribe,” he said.

He commended Governor Agbu Kefas the giant strides made by his administration, stressing that he had delivered the dividends of democracy since assumption of office.
