Following last night’s event in London, more early reactions to James Gunn’s DCU reboot have now emerged. And they are glowing brighter than the Sun that powers the Man of Steel himself. Several early reactions to James Gunn’s highly anticipated Superman reboot, and the beginning of the newly emerging on the big screen, have now hit social media. Lucky fans were given the chance to see 30 minutes from the superhero movie and have revealed whether the DCU gets off to a flying start...or quickly comes crashing down to Earth.
"Okay so #Superman footage. From what I saw then this is the Superman I’ve been reading in comics for 30+ years. It’s funny, it’s heartfelt, it’s action-packed. David embodies the character perfectly. Lex is despicable. Rachel is incredible and her chemistry with David is perfect," declares X/Twitter user @neilvagg, with @bestever23 adding, "I’ve been into comic book movies since I saw Batman ‘89 in theaters — so trust me, I know what I’m talking about. That said, #SupermanMovie is legit. Doesn’t matter if it’s DC or Marvel — a win is a win," before concluding, "This is why I go to the movies."
Praise has been heaped on David Corenswet as the new Superman, with @TomMCJL calling him “terrific as Superman & excels as Clark Kent with his charisma opposite Rachel Brosman's Lois radiating off the charts. Their interview sequence maybe a Top 5 on-screen Superman moment for me, & that's a high bar to hit,” while the action is “was great, as was the flying, both are complimented by smooth & solid camera work.” Fellow fan @aspiringkrypto had “no notes” and called the footage “perfect,” while @TheDCTVshow concluded “The scenes flowed well, the humour is great and the action is well shot!”

The return of Superman has been hailed "damn beautiful" and "unique," with those in attendance highlighting the flying sequences as truly special. "Needless to say, it was damn beautiful. Time absolutely flew by," said X/Twitter user @migomegamig.
“No way I saw the first 30 minutes of Superman after feeling so hopeless the entire day. Needless to say it was DAMN BEAUTIFUL. Time absolutely flew by…”
James Gunn has previously discussed his approach to Superman’s flight, likening it to Tom Cruise’s blockbuster smash-hit Top Gun: Maverick. And it seems this approach has paid off. “Holy… just saw 30 min of #Superman the fly scene is unique and you can feel the speed of Superman. IMAX is a must for this movie,” raved @goodjoeth.
While these reactions are no doubt wrapped up in the excitement of the event, it certainly sounds like James Gunn has done exactly what he needed to do with the beginning of the DCU on the big screen and Superman’s return. “I GOT THE CHANCE TO WATCH THE FIRST 30 MINS OF SUPERMAN AND IT WAS AMAZING!!! @corenswet @JamesGunn HAS DONE IT, SUPER STOKED FOR THIS ONE!!!” said @Seany_Matt. Meanwhile, @gabbmorato said...
“The first 30 mins of #Superman is so fcking good! A fresh new perspective to take the character!
David is SO GOOD switching from Clark to Superman and the chemistry with Rachel!
We’ve seen a lot and yet WE HAVEN’T SEEN A LOT!”
