The Chief of Amanase, Osabarima Etuobefom Asare Panin, has issued a strong call to the youth of Ghana to refrain from drug abuse, emphasizing the severe dangers it poses to their lives and well-being.

Speaking to Accra FM/CTV news reporter Apelete Kofi-Michel at his palace in Amanase, Ayensuano District, Osabarima Etuobefom Asare Panin expressed concern over the increasing prevalence of substance abuse among young people.

He warned that this practice carries harmful consequences for both their physical and mental health, urging them to protect themselves by staying away from such acts.

The Chief also advised the youth to foster peace among themselves and resist being manipulated by others. He acknowledged the numerous challenges facing young Ghanaians and appealed to all stakeholders to unite in the fight against drug abuse to safeguard the future generation.

Osabarima Etuobefom Asare Panin specifically cautioned against substances that alter perception, mood, and cognitive behavior, listing cannabis, cocaine, mephedrone, ecstasy, tramadol, "red," and "speed" as examples with serious detrimental effects on mental health. He strongly advised young individuals against experimenting with drugs, as it often leads to addiction.

Furthermore, the Amanase Chief called on government and community opinion leaders to support the youth in acquiring higher education, which would equip them with valuable skills for the job market.
In conclusion, Osabarima Etuobefom Asare Panin encouraged all Ghanaians to join the collective effort to stop the sale and use of illicit drugs throughout the country.
