The Conestoga High School girls’ lacrosse team defeated host Wilson, 10-7, Tuesday in the first round of the PIAA 3A state tournament.
Leaders for Conestoga included Price Orcutt (four goals, one caused turnover), Carolyn Jones (two goals, one assist), Sofia Calvitti (one goal, three draw controls, three ground balls) and Maggie Neary (one goal, six draw controls). Also for the Pioneers, Lauren Grimes, Julia Cowgill, Maria Ziff and Katie Mierzwa each collected two ground balls.
The Pioneers, the third-place finisher in the District 1 3A tournament, will face District 12 3A champion Archbishop Carroll in the second round Saturday.

Immaculata player honored >> The Philadelphia Area Sports Information Directors Association (PhillySIDA) announced their 2025 All-Area Academic Lacrosse Team Tuesday, and Immaculata University’s David Azzarano was one of 13 student-athletes from 10 different schools named to the team. The team is selected through nominations and voting by the sports information offices from 30 institutions in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area. To be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, athletes must be at least in their second year with their program and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better. Azzarano had an outstanding season being named 2025 Atlantic East Conference Player of the Year, and First Team All-Atlantic East Conference. Azzarano led the Atlantic East Conference in scoring, setting single-season program records for points in a season (97) and assists in a season (52), while scoring a career-high 45 goals. He helped lead Immaculata to their first Atlantic East Conference Championship and appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Azzarano tied program records for assists in a single game with eight, and points in a single game with 11 in Immaculata;s AEC semifinal win over Gwynedd Mercy. Azzarano concluded his Immaculata career as the Mighty Macs’ all-time career leading scorer, with 144 goals, 147 assists, and 291 points in 72 games played, including 67 starts, averaging 4.04 points per game. Azzarano participated in the 2025 USILA North vs South Senior All-Star Game for the North Team on May 23 in Bristol, R.I.
