Daud Afridi Forces Officials To Face The Heat In Dramatic Protest Against Load-Shedding
(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) In a bold and symbolic protest against severe load-shedding in Kohat Division, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly member Daud Afridi turned off all air conditioners, fans, and lights during an official meeting-forcing government officials to experience the scorching heat faced daily by the public.
The atmosphere of the meeting, attended by the Kohat Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, WAPDA officials, and other relevant departments, quickly became unbearable as the temperature soared.
Sweating profusely, officials visibly struggled with the discomfort. Addressing them, Afridi remarked,“If you can't tolerate this heat for even ten minutes, imagine the agony the public endures during 20 hours of daily load-shedding.”

Afridi criticized PESCO officials for using line losses as an excuse for the outages, stating that widespread corruption within the department was the real issue. He demanded the immediate transfer of staff who have been posted at the same location for years and called for a long-term solution to the electricity crisis.
The MPA warned that if the situation does not improve, he will take to the streets alongside the public in protest.
As the meeting concluded, several officers admitted that the“painful demonstration” effectively highlighted the public's suffering and pledged to take immediate steps to address the issue.
