Dating Drama, a Drawn-Out Divorce & More: TLC Announces Return of 'Welcome to Plathville'; Watch the Season 7 Trailer - The Ashley's Reality Roundup
returns next month with a new season full of old drama, new faces, fresh starts and, as usual, a plethora of complex Plath family dynamics.
Earlier this week, TLC released the trailer for Season 7 of ‘Welcome to Plathville,’ in which viewers learn that, despite announcing their split in 2022, and have yet to officially end their marriage.
“There have been lots of changes in the family– or should I say additions,” family patriarch Barry tells viewers in the newly released trailer.

Later on, Kim confirms that her and Barry’s marital status isn’t one of the “changes” Barry is referring to– much to her dismay.
“All of the roadblocks to us finishing the divorce are falling to [Barry],” she says, later telling her (presumably) soon-to-be ex-husband, “It’s been three years. I want my life to move forward.”
As Barry and Kim move towards ending their marriage, their daughter is planning begin her own with boyfriend , whom fans will get to meet in the upcoming season.

In the trailer, Lydia– who married Zac earlier this year after just months of dating– tells viewers that she’s finally found “the one.” She and Zac also tell Kim and Barry that they’re saving their first kiss for their wedding day.
“Among other first,” Barry adds, to which Zac confirms, “Among all the other firsts, yes.”
“I need more champagne,” Kim says on behalf of us all.
While Lydia and Zac are happily fast tracking their union, not everyone in the Plath family is on board, with Lydia’s brothers , and particularly skeptical about the couple’s race to the altar.
In the upcoming season, viewers will watch as Micah deals with some relationship drama of his own after he and (now former) girlfriend “hit a rough patch” and find themselves unable to get on the same page.

In addition to Veronica allegedly holding grudges from “past disappointments,” Micah is trying to avoid making the same mistakes his brother Ethan made in his marriage to ex-wife , with even Ethan noting that there are similarities between the two relationships.
“Veronica thinks that my family is out to get her and Olivia thought the same thing,” Ethan tells viewers.
“I’m trying to ride the line of not doing what I feel like Ethan did,” Micah says in the trailer. “He took Olivia’s side, didn’t talk to my mom or dad. I don’t want anything close to that.”
Later on, Veronica compares her current dynamic with Micah and his family to being in chemistry class.

“ … like, mixing things together and it’s going to explode any second,” she says. “I know this will go bad. Mark my words.”
While Ethan has moved on from his marriage, Olivia is set to make an appearance in the upcoming season– a move that reportedly throws Ethan a curveball, as he has moved on with a new girlfriend whom he claims to see a future with her.
“Would you please stop,” Ethan says to Olivia during a tense conversation in the trailer, to which Olivia replies, “No.”

The upcoming season will also show Moriah Plath taking a step back from her family– and all of their drama– as she prepares to make a “life changing move.”
