The Acting National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori, has formally assumed office in accordance with Article 14 of the party’s constitution and the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This followed the acceptance of the resignation letter by the former national chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, by members of the National Working Committee (NWC) at a meeting held on Monday at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Dalori in his acceptance speech assured of his dedication to carrying out his newfound role with transparency, inclusiveness, and unity of purpose.

Paying tribute to Ganduje for the role he played in strengthening the party, he called on his colleagues in the NWC to keep their eyes on the bigger picture: delivering good governance to the Nigerian people, deepening democracy within the party’s structures, and preparing for the future with clarity and determination.

He said ahead of the 2027 poll, it behoves the NWC to strengthen internal processes, reconnect with grassroots, and re-energise the party structures across all levels.

He expressed the NWC’s firm and unwavering support for President Tinubu’s bold reform agenda, aimed at addressing fundamental challenges in the economy, security, and national cohesion.

He assured that the APC remains the political vehicle to drive this transformation, adding that the party will stand by the President in full loyalty and partnership.

Dalori called on party members and stakeholders to stay united, given that political transitions often create uncertainty, which can breed disunity.

“We must avoid actions and words that divide us and focus on what binds us — our shared belief in the promise of Nigeria and the future of the APC. In the days ahead, I will share with you a practical roadmap to guide our work during this interim period. It will cover key areas such as party discipline, reconciliation, communication, member mobilisation, and broader stakeholder engagement,” he noted.

“Our core leadership priorities shall be familiarised thoroughly with the APC Constitution, code of conduct, and operational guidelines.
“Finally, I appeal to every one of you — let us renew our commitment to the APC. Let us work together with sincerity, courage, and faith in our mission. Let us honour the past, serve the present, and prepare for a brighter future — as one united and determined APC family.”
