The Kwara Fire Service has recovered the lifeless body of an unidentified man, said to be around 45 years old, from the Asa River in Ilorin.

The incident, the service noted, was reported by officials from the state Ministry of Environment who discovered the body floating on the river.

The Head, Media and Publicity for the service, explained in a statement, that the corps is awaiting identification.

“Upon receiving the report, a team of firefighters was swiftly deployed to the scene to prevent potential environmental hazards. The crew successfully retrieved the body from the river.

“The recovered body was subsequently handed over to the Ministry of Environment, which is now awaiting formal identification and claims from the deceased’s family,” he said.
