Bethel University has announced Gabe Miller as the next head coach of the Royals men’s basketball program. With over a decade of collegiate coaching experience across NCAA Division II, III, and NAIA levels, Miller brings a proven track record of competitive success, strong leadership, and a deep commitment to student-athlete development.

“Gabe Miller is a proven leader who aligns perfectly with Bethel’s Christ-centered mission and values,” said Athletic Director Greg Peterson. “He has a clear vision for building a culture of excellence—where student-athletes are developed spiritually, academically, and athletically. We’re confident he will lead our men’s basketball program with passion, integrity, and purpose.”

Miller joins the Royals following a successful tenure at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where he served as Associate Head Coach. During his time at Parkside, Miller helped lead the Rangers to the 2022-23 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) regular season championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Tournament. As the program’s recruiting coordinator and defensive architect, Miller played a key role in developing the GLIAC Player of the Year and achieving a program-record GPA of 3.46.

“It is a honor and blessing to be named the Head Men’s Basketball coach at Bethel University,” said Miller. “First, we want to give glory and praise to our Lord Jesus Christ for leading and directing this entire process. Joining the Bethel community is a dream come true for me and my family. I want to thank President Allen, Athletic Director Greg Peterson and the entire search committee for this opportunity to serve and lead one of the most elite programs in the country. My family and I are incredibly excited to join Bethel in their mission of pursuing athletic excellence for greater kingdom impact.”

Before Parkside, Miller spent six years at Loras College, helping the Duhawks reach new heights. Under his leadership as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator, Loras posted a 102-45 record, captured an American Rivers Conference Championship, and made a Sweet 16 appearance in the 2018-19 NCAA Division III Tournament. His efforts in player development and recruiting led to numerous All-Conference selections and a 100% graduation and job placement rate for all four-year players.

Prior to Loras he spent three seasons at Judson as an assistant basketball coach and recruiting coordinator.

Miller’s roots in Division III began as a player at Anderson University in Indiana. With the Ravens, he was a two-time All-Conference honoree while helping Anderson to a HCAC Conference Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2010.
