Cuban Nights at The Bloomsbury Club in London: A New Celebration of Cuban Music, Cocktails, and Culture
Thursday, July 3, 2025
The Bloomsbury Club, located in central London, will host a special event called Cuban Nights from July 17th to 19th, 2025, which will celebrate Cuban culture, music, and cocktails. This three-night event is being organized in collaboration with the rum brand Ron Santiago de Cuba and is scheduled to coincide with Daiquiri Week. The event will showcase live Latin music, DJs, and a specially curated cocktail menu that will be available from July 8th to 26th.
Cuban Nights will take place on the outdoor patio of the Bloomsbury Club, providing guests with an intimate and vibrant setting to enjoy the festivities. The lineup of performances includes Marcellus & Bossa Swing Band on the evening of July 17th, saxophonist Guido Spanocchi on July 18th, and a vinyl DJ set by Moralito on July 19th. Each night promises to bring unique rhythms and sounds, offering a lively celebration of Cuban and Latin music.
The cocktails for the Cuban Nights event have been created using Ron Santiago de Cuba, a rum distilled in the southeast of Cuba. Known for its smooth and sweet flavor profile, the rum will be featured in three original cocktails designed specifically for the occasion. The first cocktail, El Clasico, is made with Ron Santiago de Cuba Extra Añejo 11 Years Old rum, lime juice, and sugar syrup. The second drink, Santiago Sunset, combines lychee elixir, a homemade spicy orange distillate, citrus juice mix, and grapefruit soda. The third cocktail, Cabana Royale, blends two Ron Santiago expressions with Cointreau, lime juice, sparkling wine, and coconut and mint flavors. Each of these specially crafted cocktails will be priced at £17.
Throughout July, guests can also enjoy a Frozen Banana Daiquiri, available at The Coral Room, a bar situated within the same building as The Bloomsbury Club. The Coral Room is located at 16-22 Great Russell Street, WC1B 3NN, and offers a perfect spot for those looking to enjoy a refreshing cocktail in a stylish setting.
Cuban Nights will make a return later in the year during London Cocktail Week, scheduled for October 9th to 19th, with additional details expected to be announced closer to the event. The series is expected to bring the same excitement and atmosphere, along with new cocktail creations and musical performances.
Ron Santiago de Cuba, the rum featured in the Cuban Nights cocktails, is available in several expressions in the UK market, including Carta Blanca (38% ABV, RRP £18), Añejo 8 Years Old (40% ABV, RRP £24), Extra Añejo 12 Years Old (40% ABV, RRP £42), and the more premium 20 Years Old Extra Añejo Gran Reserva (40% ABV, RRP £175). These rums are known for their rich and complex flavors, making them perfect for crafting a variety of cocktail creations.
For those interested in attending Cuban Nights or learning more about the event, reservations and additional details can be found on The Bloomsbury Club’s website. The event is expected to attract both locals and visitors alike, offering a taste of Cuban culture through music, drinks, and an unforgettable atmosphere.
In addition to Cuban Nights, The Bloomsbury Club’s patrons can look forward to other exciting food and drink offerings throughout the summer. For example, the popular Bund Lounge rooftop bar is set to bring an art deco flair and Shanghai-inspired cocktails to Mayfair, while the new all-day restaurant and bar Canal is now open in Westbourne Park. If you’re in the mood for something more exotic, Shanghai Me is bringing 1930s Pan-Asian dining to London Hilton on Park Lane, and Villa Mamas in Chelsea is launching a Bahraini-inspired weekend brunch for a Middle Eastern twist on classic fare.
Other new developments in London’s food scene include Rotunda at Four Seasons London Bridge, where a floral cocktail menu and a dried flower installation will brighten up the summer. Additionally, the Menorc4Manos festival in Menorca will reunite top chefs from Spain and Latin America, while Chef Rob Roy Cameron opens Basque-inspired Alta in Kingly Court. For a unique dining experience, Down Hall Hotel is offering an open-air woodland dining experience with seasonal feasts and live music, and Faber at Holborn Dining Room is showcasing a standout display of British seafood.
