Cree Summer Francks is an African American-Canadian actress, voice actress, and singer, who is best known for being the original voice of Penny in the 1983 animated series of Inspector Gadget. Her other well-known voice roles include Elmyra Duff in Warner Bros.' Tiny Toon Adventures (as well as its subsequent crossover series), Susie Carmichael in Nickelodeon's Rugrats, Maxine "Max" Gibson in Batman Beyond, Numbuh 5 in Cartoon Network's Codename: Kids Next Door, Valerie Gray in Danny Phantom, Magma and Cynder in the video games X-Men Legends and The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning (respectively), Dulcy Dragon in season 2 of the SatAM version of Sonic the Hedgehog, Cleo in the PBS Kids series Clifford the Big Red Dog, Penelope the dragon in Barbie as Rapunzel, Lizzie (Big Daddy's daughter) in The Land Before Time franchise, and Ace in DreamWorks' Dinotrux.
Summer has also done work on several Disney productions, most notably voicing Kida in Atlantis: The Lost Empire and its sequel. Additionally, she will portray an unconfirmed character in the 2025 Marvel/Disney+ series Ironheart.
