COREangels MEA Launches $10M Fund To Support Early-Stage Startups In Middle East And Africa
COREangels MEA has announced the rollout of a USD 10 million fund targeting early-stage tech startups across the Middle East and Africa.
The fund, launched during the network’s 5th Investment Committee meeting held in Cairo at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AAST), is backed by PTS Holdings and co-managed by Kemtix Ventures.
With a clear focus on ventures aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, the fund aims to provide not just capital but operational and strategic support through Kemtix’s innovation studio. Startups selected can receive up to USD 150,000 each, along with tailored guidance to build and scale.
COREangels MEA, a joint initiative between COREangels International and PTS Investments Holdings, seeks to combine capital with capability and community-building. According to Maha Mandour, Chairperson of PTS Holdings and one of the founding partners, the model is about creating an enabling environment that goes beyond financial injection.
This year, the fund is channeling its focus toward fintech, specifically, companies tackling financial inclusion. The Middle East and Africa’s fintech sector is projected to surpass USD 100 billion by 2028, and investors are increasingly paying attention to founders who are addressing long-standing gaps in access to financial services.
From over 1,000 applications received, five startups were selected for the initial round of support:
The selection process, led by Kemtix Ventures, prioritized scalability, market readiness, and tangible social impact.
This fund underscores a maturing shift in the region’s early-stage capital market. Instead of chasing trends, more investors are backing ventures tied to everyday challenges, especially in underserved sectors.
Fintech remains a solid starting point, not just for returns, but for its role in rethinking access to essential services across the continent.
The strategic mix of funding, operational support, and a community of investors positions COREangels MEA as a meaningful player in the startup investment space.
