Congo's National Data Center in Brazzaville Reaches 75% Completion
The Republic of Congo’s National Data Center in Brazzaville has reached 75% completion. The inauguration of the center is anticipated between August and November 2025.
The announcement was made during a site visit by Dr. Solomane Koné, the African Development Bank‘s (AfDB) Acting Director General for the Central Africa Region and Léon Juste Ibombo, Congo’s Minister of Telecommunications, Posts and Digital Economy.
Funded by a €66.55 million investment – €52.47 million from the AfDB and €14.50 million from the Congolese government – the data center will be the first of its kind in Central Africa.
The National Data Center is a pivotal component of the Central African Backbone project, which aims to enhance regional digital connectivity. The project includes the installation of 600 km of fiber optic cables connecting Congo to Cameroon and the Central African Republic.
