Colgate-Palmolive researchers patented an oral care composition comprising:

• an orally acceptable vehicle; 

• one or more sources of a peroxide whitening agent, wherein the source of the peroxide whitening agent is present in an amount of from about 9% weight to about 23% weight by weight of the composition; and

• one or more gelling agents, wherein the gelling agents comprise a fatty acid, wherein the one or more gelling agents is present in an amount of about 1.5% weight to about 5% weight by weight of the composition, and wherein the oral care composition comprises water in an amount of less than 3.0% weight by weight of the composition.
