CloudSEK Secures $19 Million in New Funding

Cybersecurity firm CloudSEK has secured USD 19 million in its Series A2 and B1 funding rounds. This financial boost is aimed at enhancing its AI-powered threat prediction platform and broadening its global presence. The funding round saw participation from both Indian and US investors, including MassMutual Ventures, Inflexor Ventures, Prana Ventures, Tenacity Ventures, and Commvault as a strategic investor. Existing investors such as the Meeran Family (founders of Eastern Group), StartupXSeed, Neon Fund, and Exfinity Ventures also increased their investment.

Founded in 2015 by cybersecurity researcher Rahul Sasi, CloudSEK offers AI-driven threat intelligence tools designed to detect cyber threats early on. The platform is utilized by over 250 enterprises spanning banking, healthcare, government, and technology sectors. The newly acquired capital will be used to advance the company's AI models and platform integrations, specifically those that pinpoint Initial Attack Vectors (IAVs), which are subtle indicators of impending cyber incidents like exposed APIs or leaked credentials.

Rahul Sasi, Co-founder and CEO of CloudSEK, stated that the company's objective is to predict initial attack vectors and prevent threats before they escalate into major incidents. He emphasized that CloudSEK's platform differs from conventional threat intelligence by focusing on identifying early warning signs, such as compromised vendors or leaked credentials, well in advance of an actual attack. This proactive approach is referred to as predictive intelligence, as opposed to forensic intelligence.

CloudSEK's platform has experienced substantial international adoption. Over 60% of new revenue originates from international markets, with the US being the fastest-growing region. According to Sasi, this growth has been achieved while maintaining positive cash flow. To date, CloudSEK has raised a total of USD 26 million and is planning a Series B2 extension to attract new investors and facilitate partial exits for its early backers.
