Published 3 days ago2 minute read

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has hosted military and para-military personnel during its monthly thanksgiving service at the Church’s headquarters, The Throne of Grace, in Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

The event was organised to address the insecurity challenges and recognise the sacrifices made by security operatives in the line of duty.

The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, was represented by the Chaplain of the Nigerian Navy, Captain Ajayi. Other dignitaries at the service included Squadron-Leader Rev Tunde Agboluaje of the Nigerian Air Force, RCCG Chaplain I Pastor Josiah Bolarinwa, Assistant Commander of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Stephen Oyayode, and Dr William Ibewuike of the Department of State Services (DSS), Ikoyi, Lagos.

Delivering the sermon on the topic, “Shadow of The Almighty,” the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, emphasised the critical role of the military and security agencies in maintaining peace and stability. He prayed for the Armed Forces, the Police, the DSS, the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, the Nigeria Customs Service, and other security operatives, urging them to seek divine protection as they carry out their duties.

Adeboye also called on Nigerians to continue praying against floods and storms, referring to an earlier prophecy.

In his remarks, Pastor Dele Balogun, the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration and Pastor in charge of Region 1, urged military and security personnel to remain uncompromising in their loyalty to the nation, noting that security requires both spiritual and physical dedication.

Balogun, quoting scripture, reminded the personnel that “horses are prepared for the day of battle, but safety is of the Lord.” He encouraged them to trust in God’s protection and align their work with the guidance of the Almighty.
