Although they did not identify Brown due to legal constraints, the Metropolitan Police said that a 36-year-old man was brought into custody at a Manchester hotel on suspicion of causing significant bodily harm, The Sun reported.
Music producer Abe Diaw, the alleged victim, says Brown knocked him over the head with a Don Julio 1942 tequila bottle.
The musician then punched and kicked him while he was on the ground, leaving him hospitalised with long-lasting damage.
Alleging severe damage and abuse, Diaw sued Brown in November 2023 for 12 million euros (KSh 2.1 billion).
Shortly after landing in the UK for his forthcoming Breezy Bowl Tour, which was set to honour his 20-year music career, he was arrested.
The tour had gigs across many UK venues scheduled for June and July.
Brown was detained outside The Lowry Hotel in Manchester.

The Metropolitan Police were notified by The Sun newspaper of Brown's presence in the UK, so the arrest was initiated.
Brown remains in custody; his representatives have not made any public comments about the arrest.
How this development will impact his booked travel dates is unknown.
Brown's officials have been mute despite his arrest; it is unknown how this legal matter will impact his intended tour.
The circumstances have also brought prior accusations of Brown, who has had various court disputes over the years, including a well-reported 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna, back to life.
According to People, the entertainer had filed a complaint against the star, which his legal team dismissed.
They noted that the allegations were meant to exploit the Autumn Leaves singer's celebrity status.
They claimed he was seeking a sizable financial settlement.
Despite these claims, the lawsuit progressed through the court system.
A motion by Brown's tour promoter to refute some of Diaw's claims was dismissed in April 2024, therefore enabling the matter to proceed.
In other news, the musician's sold-out South African tour in 2024 sparked reactions on social media.
Kenyan influencers such as Papa Shirandula's actress, Brian Mutinda, and Kimanzi attended the sold-out show.
The show attracted a crowd of 90,000 fans who filled up Johannesburg's FNB Stadium.
Anti-government chants were heard in the crowd during the concert.
Their voices rang in unison and disrupted the electrifying atmosphere. The video went viral on social media.
