China says US lost credibility on global stage after striking Iran's nuclear sites - The Zambian Observer

China has criticized the United States for its recent airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, stating that the attack has severely damaged Washington’s credibility on the global stage.

Chinese Ambassador to the United Nations, Fu Cong, condemned the U.S. military action, which took place on June 21, 2025, targeting key Iranian nuclear sites, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

“China strongly condemns the US military attacks on the nuclear facilities in Iran,” Fu Cong said during a U.N. Security Council meeting on Sunday, according to China’s state broadcaster CCTV.

“Iran is harmed but also harmed is the US credibility as a country and as a party to any international negotiations,” he continued.

He urged all parties to restrain from further escalation and warned that the situation “may go out of control” if tensions continue to rise.

The U.S. strikes, codenamed Operation Midnight Hammer, involved 125 military aircraft, including B-2 stealth bombers deploying massive bunker-buster bombs.

President Donald Trump described the operation as a “spectacular military success,” claiming it “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

However, while the strikes caused significant damage, particularly at the fortified Fordow site, Iran’s nuclear program may not have been destroyed.
