The cancer survivor, who had been transferred to Aga Khan Hospital Nairobi recently, shared a post revealing he would be leaving the hospital on January 20.
In a Facebook post, Nyamlori thanked Kenyans for their support and revealed that he was getting better.
After his death was confirmed, Kenyans flocked to social media to mourn him. One said:
"Ohhh I had so much hope for his full recovery. Rest in power, Mathew."
Another said:
"Mathew has rested as a warrior."
