CBC Music Class Challenge: 2025 fall edition song list | CBC Music Events
Check out the great Canadian songs your music class can learn this year.
Get ready, music lovers! The CBC Music Class Challenge, presented by MusiCounts, is hitting a big milestone this fall — its 10th anniversary!
For this special 2025 fall contest, we're sticking with the popular format you know and love: classes will learn and perform songs from a curated list. This year's selection features a mix of contemporary Canadian tunes that students might already be humming, plus some of the most popular picks from the last decade. So, if you've got some old arrangements lying around, it might be time to dust them off.
But wait, there's more: our 10th anniversary celebrations continue into the spring of 2026 with an exciting focus on brand new, original music. We've commissioned a new song in Cree from talented composer Sherryl Sewepagaham, and just like before, it'll come with an instructional video.
You can expect scores in SATB, SA, Unison, and Orff arrangements. And here's the really exciting part: we're launching a brand new category in the spring where your class can submit a performance of an original song! We'll reveal the theme for this new challenge in January, so keep an eye out for that.
