Published 1 week ago2 minute read

There hasn’t been a name more popular in the sports world over the last two years than former Iowa Hawkeyes legend and current Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark, who has quickly emerged as one of the premier athletes in the game of basketball.

While the WNBA season is just around the corner, Caitlin Clark has had a busy offseason, making appearances on several podcasts, shows, and at various sporting events.

One notable moment was her recent jersey retirement at the University of Iowa, where her No. 22 jersey was honored after her historic career with the Hawkeyes. Clark became the all-time leading scorer in both men's and women's Division I basketball history during her time at Iowa.

However, this week, while appearing on the "Eli Manning Show," Clark participated in a fun question-and-answer segment where she didn't hesitate revealed her all-time favorite NFL player.

"Former, I'm going Peyton [Manning]," Clark said. "I actually had a Peyton Manning jersey growing up, not to make you mad, Eli, but I'm going Peyton."

Clark also revealed that her favorite current player is Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. She was spotted this season in a suite with Travis Kelce's girlfriend, the fan-favorite singer and songwriter Taylor Swift, cheering on the Chiefs—her favorite team—during their playoff matchup against the Houston Texans.

Nonetheless, the energy and anticipation are extremely high for what the Fever can potentially accomplish this upcoming season under new head coach Stephanie White

With several new additions through free agency and Clark entering her second season—armed with more experience and continuing to ascend as one of the league's best players—the Fever are poised for an exciting season ahead with the Iowa star leading the way.
