A 24-year-old Romanian burglar shot in the head by a security guard as he and three other members of a gang were allegedly trying to rob an apartment in northern Rome Thursday night has died of critical injuries in a Roman hospital, medical sources said Friday.
The guard had been placed under investigation for attempted murder, which is now expected to be upgraded to murder.
