Dearest Gentle Reader, consider your weekend made, as we have a bunch of exciting updates about Bridgerton Season 4. As is typical of the show, the upcoming installment will focus on new leads, and masquerade ball, with the romance between Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) and Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) taking center stage. The streamer organized the Bridgerton: Season of Love Q&A and Immersive Dinner at Raffles London at the OWO, perfectly timed for Valentine’s Day, i.e., yesterday. Bridgerton has reignited interest in regencycore, a fashion and home décor style inspired by early 19th-century England’s Regency era, and the latest season is expected to fuel the obsession even more. Keep reading till the end to find out what the streamer teased yesterday during the online and offline event.
During the event, showrunner Jess Brownell revealed that season 4 will be the “most faithful” adaptation of the book. For the unversed, Bridgerton is based on the book series by Julia Quinn. A teaser was also released yesterday, featuring some behind-the-scenes footage.
Speaking about the S4, Luke Thompson told Netflix, “The scripts that [showrunner] Jess [Brownell] and her team have come up with are dynamite. They’re really, really, really exciting.”
“The storyline is a bit of a twist on ‘Cinderella.’ You remember being told those stories as a child — the magic and the romance of them. It’s really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of … It’s such a great story, but it’s also, I hope, really relatable,” he added.
Lady Whistledown fans can look forward to seeing how Collin and Penelope navigate their marriages on the show. As of now, there is no official release date for season 4.
Bridgeton Season 4 will also star Jonathan Bailey, Simone Ashley, Victor Ali, Adjoa Andoh, Julie Andrews, Lorraine Ashbourne, Masali Baduza, Nicola Coughlan, Hannah Dodd, Daniel Francis, Ruth Gemmell, Florence Hunt, Martins Imhangbe, Claudia Jessie, Katie Leung, Luke Newton, Michelle Mao, Emma Naomi, Golda Rosheuvel, Hugh Sachs, Will Tilston, Polly Walker and Isabella Wei.
