The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old boy, Mohammed Umar, for disguising as a woman allegedly with an intent to commit fraud.
Umar, a resident of Abuja Road in Yola South Local Government Area, was apprehended after he was seen loitering in the premises of the Ngurore LCCN church.
Police said the arrest followed a report filed by one Sunday Andrawus at the Ngurore Divisional Police Headquarters, who said he was suspicious of an individual’s movements within the church premises.
A statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Dankombo Morris, had directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yola for thorough investigation.
